Pacer is an album released in October 1995 by the Amps, lead by Kim Deal. The album was recorded as a side project to her group the Breeders. She recruited new musicians and naming the group the Amps, recorded Pacer at several studios in the US and Ireland, with different engineers, including Steve Albini, Bryce Goggin, and John Agnello. Despite radio airplay for its single, Tipp City, Pacer did not sell well. The Amps toured in 1995 and 1996 with Sonic Youth. The Amps released just the one album 'Pacer' back in 1995 - featuring Kim Deal, Jim MacPherson, Nate Farley and Luis Lerma. You'll often hear a couple of Amps tracks when The Breeders play Star Small World is a 2006 tribute album to the American power pop band, Big Star. It was produced by Big Star drummer Jody Stephens, who also created the cover art. It was originally due for release in 1998 on Ignition Records, with contributions solicited from various artists starting in 1997. However, after the label went under, the project was shelved. It was eventually released in 2006 on Koch Records
